Habitat: Mesic to wet woodland borders.

Species Description: Woody vine.

Phenology: Flowering Period: Early May to late July. Fruiting Period: Early August to late October.

Diagnostic Characteristics: Vitis labrusca has branched tendrils and the bark is shreddy. The tendrils are present at 3 or more consecutive nodes. Leaves are reddish wooly on the lower side. The fruit a large, > 15 cm.

Management: Disturbance such as ATV trails, timber removal or any activity that results in increased erosion and weed invasion will be detrimental.
