Diagnostic Characteristics: The first basal leaves of Eggleston's violet are not lobed or divided, which makes them different from the rest of the basal leaves, the mid-season leaves, since they have 5-9 narrow divisions. These early leaves are deltoid in shape not cordate.

Management: Disturbance such as ATV trails, timber removal or any activity that results in increased erosion and weed invasion will be detrimental.
