Species Description:
Perennial aquatic herb.

Phenology:
Flowering Period: Early July to late September.

Diagnostic Characteristics:
This submersed aquatic plant has long grass-like leaves that can be to 2 m in length and 3-10 mm wide. The flowers float at the water surface on long extending pedicles.

Management:
Disturbance i.e. roads, tree removal, within the watershed of the stream where this species occurs could change the hydrology or water quality and result in a decline in the quality of the habitat.
