Habitat: Lower somewhat rocky slope of mesophytic forest.

Species Description: Short-lived perennial.

Phenology: Flowering Period: Early May to late June.

Diagnostic Characteristics: Plant about 1-2 dm in height. Acuminate leaves are in a single terminal whorl and a small scale leaf at the middle of the stem. Flowers 7-merous (7 of each flower part) with white petals.

Management: Disturbance such as ATV trails, timber removal or any activity that results in increased erosion and weed invasion will be detrimental.
