Diagnostic Characteristics: Similar to the common Symphyotrichumpilosum, S priceae has purple flowers and larger flower heads. The rays are to 15 mm in length and there are often more than 70 flws in a head.

Management: Disturbance such as ATV trails, timber removal or any activity that results in increased erosion and weed invasion will be detrimental.
