Boulder/cobble river bars.

Species Description:
Perennial herb.

Phenology:
Flowering Period: Early August to mid October.

Diagnostic Characteristics:
Plants are glabrous except occasionally in inflorescence. Leaves are progressively smaller up the stem and mostly basal. The inflorescence generally a raceme but not secund (all on one side of the stem). There are 7-10 rays. Plants occur on gravel bars in Kentucky.

Management:
Soil disturbance resulting from activities such as ATV trails, timber removal or any activity that results in increased erosion and weed invasion would likely be detrimental. Exotic pest plants are a threat to this species.
