Habitat:
Swamps and wet open rocky river banks.

Species Description:
Perennial herb.

Phenology:
Flowering Period: Early September to mid October.
Fruiting Period: Early October to mid October.

Diagnostic Characteristics:
This is a plant of swamps and wet riverbanks. Basal leaves are sheathing -clasping athe base, and leave are large, to 35 cm. Inflorescence branches are are glabrous.

Management:
Avoid changes in moisture/hydrologic conditions at the site. Changes could result from overstory removal, stream/wetland alteration or vegetation removal that would result in increased erosion.
