Diagnostic Characteristics: This species occurs in dry upland woods. The infloresence is loose, not in a tight head, so that the flower petioles can be seen. The leaves are glandular and lance-ovate (not more than 3 times as long as wide). The calyx teeth are not bristle tipped and the lobes deltoid.

Management: Timber removal would be detrimental. Exotic pest plants are a threat to this species and should be removed. Avoid creating access to the site through trail or road construction.
