Habitat:
Marshes, wet meadows, open wetlands.

Species Description:
Annual herb.

Phenology:
Flowering Period: Early June to late August.

Diagnostic Characteristics:
Erect perennial 2-8 dm; leaves filiform with three divisions at a node; bracts also filiform and mostly 3-cleft (cut about half the length) and the sepals deltoid; styles 0.2-0.5 (longer than other species). Plant of marshes and open wetlands.

Management:
Avoid changes in moisture/hydrologic conditions at the site. Changes could result from overstory removal, stream/wetland alteration or vegetation removal that would result in increased erosion. Exotic pest plants are a threat to this species and should be removed. Avoid creating access to the site through trail or road construction.
