Habitat:
Rocky slopes, ridges, and ledges at high altitudes.

Species Description:
Perennial herb.

Phenology:
Flowering Period: Early July to late September.

Diagnostic Characteristics:
This plant grows in mats and has silky hairy stems. The leaves are linear, 1-3 cm long and silky. The stipules are hyaline. The calyx is 3-6 mm and appressed hairy.

Management:
Exotic pest plants are a threat to this species and should be removed. Avoid creating access to the site through trail or road construction.
