Diagnostic Characteristics: Differing from other species of Hydrophyllum (waterleaf) in have the principal cauline (stem) leaves deeply pinnately divided; the hairs on the infloresence are straight and generally all pointing in the same direction and short, seldom as long as 0.5 mm.

Management: Avoid changes in moisture/hydrologic conditions at the site. Changes could result from overstory removal, stream/wetland alteration or vegetation removal that would result in increased erosion.
