Habitat:
RIVER SWAMPS AND SLOUGH MARGINS.

Species Description:
Tree.

Phenology:
Flowering Period: Mid May to late June.
Fruiting Period: Mid June to late July.

Diagnostic Characteristics:
Gleditsia aquatics can be distinguished from common honey locust in that the legumes are only about 5 cm in length and with 3 or fewer seeds.

Management:
Avoid changes in moisture/hydrologic conditions at the site. Changes could result from overstory removal, stream/wetland alteration or impacts due to erosion.
