Diagnostic Characteristics: An aquatic plant with principal leaves submersed and palmately dissected with an overall rotund shape. Stamens 3-6 (distinquishing it from Brasenia with over 12). Flowers are white with a yellow base. auriculate (with ear-like projections) near the base. Cabomba occurs in still waters such as ponds or sloughs rather than running waters.
